WATCH: The noise at Celtic Park was so deafening you couldn’t hear the Champions League music

Passion.

Pure, unadulterated passion. That's what they do in Parkhead. That's how they live. They breathe Celtic. They breathe Champions League nights. Brendan Rodgers took a huge step towards the European Cup group stages on Wednesday night with a 5-2 win over Hapoel Be'er Sheva and, Israeli opposition or not, a foregone conclusion or not, Celtic Park was packed to the rafters and, yet again, the place was absolutely rocking. Even more inevitable than Celtic's win or their fans' support, the manager was praising character all over the shop.

"They are nowhere near the finished article yet but they look a really exciting team which is full of character," he said. "I said before about the supporters being patient and allowing the players to play, especially in difficult moments in games and I have to say a massive thank you because I think they took a stride forward tonight in terms of understanding how we want to work."

Before the game though, during that momentous tune that makes midweek nights so special, the green and white Bhoys in the stands drowned out any chance the Champions League music had of breaking through. It simply couldn't be heard. Not above the Celtic fans. Not on your nelly. This is a proper atmosphere. This is special.
