Arsene Wenger ‘advises Paris Saint-Germain to move for Aaron Ramsey’

Aaron Ramsey is in his final season at Arsenal.

Having joined them a decade ago from Cardiff City, it's already clear that Ramsey will leave the north London club at the end of the season after they withdrew the offer of a new contract. Several Premier League clubs have been alerted to Ramsey's availability, with Manchester United, Liverpool and Chelsea all thought to be interested. Uncertainty over his future has also caught the attention of several European clubs, with reports earlier in the week claiming Bayern Munich were confident they had already done enough to win the race to sign the Welsh international on a free in time for next season. Now though, it appears Bayern may have competition from another European giant, with Paris Saint-Germain also said to be a possible destination. Former Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger, who signed Ramsey in 2008, has reportedly advised the French club to try and beat the Bundesliga champions to the midfielder's signature. A report by Paris United claims Wenger has recently held conversations with PSG boss Thomas Tuchel, recommending his former player to the German. Although Tuchel is said to hold doubts over a move for Ramsey, Wenger has offered a glowing reference for his former player. Wenger left Arsenal at the end of last season, bringing to a close a 22-year reign as manager of the club. Although he's recently indicated he would be interested in a return to football management, it emerged last week that he had rejected the chance to replace Slavisa Jokanović as Fulham boss - a position eventually taken by Claudio Ranieri. As well as these positions, Wenger has also been linked with a sporting director role at PSG, perhaps explaining why he has attempted to convince the French champions to move for Ramsey.
