Yesterday saw the shock of the round as Morocco beat Spain on penalties. The north African side are the only non-European or South American team remaining. Morocco deserved their victory over Spain, who were toothless in attack and managed just one shot on target in 120 minutes. In the 7 pm match, Cristiano Ronaldo started on the bench but that didn't stop Portugal from cruising to a 6-1 victory against Switzerland. The highlight of the last-16 clash was, of course, Gonçalo Ramos' hat trick on his first start for the national team. Now that the round of 16 ties are over and done with we have the quarter-finals to look ahead to. On Friday, Croatia face Brazil and the Netherlands take on Argentina. While on Saturday, Morocco meet Portugal ahead of France versus England. Related links:
