Austin Gleeson may just be the soundest hurler in Ireland with wonderful gesture to young fan

It wasn't Waterford's day on Sunday as they lost out to Tipperary in the Munster hurling final by five points After a wonderful spring and early summer, the Deise's unbeaten record was shattered in Thurles. Fans were unhappy, we're sure players were hardly delighted either, but one man showed a touch of real class after the full time whistle despite the result. Austin Gleeson hurled his heart out for the 70 minutes but came out the wrong side of the game. However after being approached by a young Waterford supporter the wing forward took time out to chat to the youngster and even had a wonderful message for him after the game.

In an era when GAA players are almost totally cut off from the public by PR mangers and sponsors and everyone else, it's brilliant to see that some players at least know who they're hurling for each and every week. The connection between fans and players really is what the GAA is all about.
