The Gaelic football championship top scorer list of 2023 has been concluded, and Shane McGuigan is the overall leader, beating David Clifford by a single point.
McGuigan was top of the charts for most of the championship but after Derry exited in the semi-final stages, and with Clifford just four points behind, everyone pressured that the Fossa man would take over.
However, a final that didn't showcase the best of the Kerryman's talents meant that he came up just short and the Oakleaf star takes home the prize.
An honourable mention has to go to Sam Mulroy who sits in fourth place, despite the fact that Louth never made it to the straight knockout stages of the championship.

Of course many of these scores come from dead-ball situations, and the top scorer form play was Colm Basquel who had an incredible season for Dublin.
Clifford takes second place on this list as well, while Con O'Callaghan sits in third, which is testament to the bombing forward who is deemed to not be as clinical as he once was.
A special mention in this category has to go to Monaghan's Conor McCarthy, who sits in ninth in the list ahead of stars like Paudie Clifford and Matthew Tierney - and all this from half back.
