Galway hurling star set to commute from the other side of the bloody Atlantic to ensure Liam McCarthy glory

Now, this is commitment.

This is some turnaround. Just a few weeks ago, it was reported in various Irish media outlets that Galway hurling star, Jonathan Glynn, would not be involved in Galway's senior hurling season for 2017. Glynn currently resides in New York, where he has lived since soon after the crushing 2015 All-Ireland Final defeat to Kilkenny. Glynn missed out on Galway's 2016 season, opting to play football for the Exiles in New York. It looked a shrewd decision as the talented 23-year-old almost helped his side to a historic victory over Roscommon in last year's Connacht Championship but were pipped by just two points. Reports in the Irish Independent reveal that Glynn will now, in fact, be involved in the Galway senior hurling panel for 2017. It is reported that Glynn has made the 3,000 km trip home to line out for his club, Ardrahan, in the Galway Senior Hurling Championship. He will link up with the county side on Monday for a training session before departing for New York. It is understood that Glynn wants to do everything in his power to be involved with Micheál Donoghue's side as they look to end their Liam McCarthy drought. It will be interesting to see how practical the 'commute' will turn out to be but you have to admire the man's determination to represent his county and achieve success.
