To be fair it was a magical goal, but how many steps did Tom Morrissey take?

Limerick raced into an eight point lead in the second half of their All-Ireland hurling final against Galway. By the 53rd minute the Tribesmen had pulled it back to 6 points. But, just how many steps did he take? It seemed an awful lot to us, so we decided to take a look. We see here, Morrissey picks up the ball just outside the 14 yard line He bears down on the Galway goal. He takes the first step.. A couple steps gone as he heads inside the 14. By this point Morrissey should have already taken a solo, but he is allowed to continue.   From this angle it looks like an attempted solo, when in fact he is just shielding McInerney away from him. Tom Morrissey side-steps past the third Galway defender and now attempts to solo the ball. Another couple steps taken... Finally... right before he wrecks the Galway net, in comes the solo. We counted nine steps here. Of course it is hard for referee's to police. The game moves so fast, but the reality is, this breach of the rules goes unnoticed way too much, and on this occasion it may have cost Galway a second All-Ireland title in a row. Fair play to Limerick and Tom Morrissey though, they were full value for their win today.
