IT Tralee 1-10 St Mary's 1-15
Slaughtneil's Shane McGuigan pointed the way for the 2017 champions into the quarter finals of the Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup.
The Derry forward - of whom big things are expected this year - kicked ten points in all, two from play and eight from frees as the teacher training college eventually shook off the challenge posed by a gritty IT Tralee team.

Last year's beaten finalists have encountered plenty of sticky situations in this Electric Ireland Sigerson Cup campaign to date - be it losing a shootout to St Mary's in Dangan, or in winning by the bare minimum with their lives on the line at the Dub - so ultimately the two point deficit they trailed the Garda College by after ten minutes of play in Templemore wasn't the steepest climb they've faced so far this - and as you would expect, they navigated it like professionals.

Peter Cooke nailed his frees for them as they dug into seal a 0-11 0-9 victory over the dogged Gardaí.
Fitzgibbon Cup
LIT 3-21 Trinity College 0-9
Jimmy Browne's Limerick IT have beaten all before them to date and that trend continued with another stroll in the college grounds in this third round group game.
Their heads now turn to bigger things with a quarter-final date on the horizon next week and this comprehensive victory ensures they'll be striding into the last eight with plenty of belief and confidence.
Offaly's big, burly full forward Oisín Kelly opened their account with a tenth minute goal and as soon as Peter Casey rammed home the second, the floodgates opened.

Trinity, to their credit, rallied hard with Fionn Ó Riain Briain keeping it respectable but in Casey, Kelly Duggan and co. - who scored their third - Limerick IT had way too much and they even could afford to take off many of their star players at the break.
