Brian Harman “gets under the skin” of Europeans with smart remark after tee shot

The Sky Sports commentary team immediately picked up on it.

Brian Harman and Max Homa finally landed a significant blow for Team USA, on Saturday morning, and he was keen to let everyone know about it. Friday had been a disaster for the Americans, the reigning Ryder Cup champions, as they lost the opening foursomes 4-0 and did not win a single match all day. On Saturday, Europe piled on the pressure to win three of the four matches out on the course. The sole USA triumph was delivered by Brian Harman and Max Homa, as they downed Shane Lowry and Sepp Straka 4&2 after a real back-and-forth battle. Brian Harman makes his point

American golfer, and Open winner, Brian Harman picked up a win for his side when teamed up with Max Homa. There was a moment on the 16th, though, when Harman riled up the crowd, and his opponents, with a comment after his tee shot.

After firing a great tee shot just off the edge of the 16th green, Harman turned around and declared, "I didn't see that. Anyone see where it went?"

The Sky Sports panel reckoned Harman knew exactly where his shot went, and was winding folks up - "That will have got under the skin of Shane and Sepp." Sure enough, when the Europeans hit a fine approach of their own, there was some cursing that Sky apologised for. "We are going to rest up and get ready for this afternoon," he added. The US pair were sent back out for the afternoon fourballs. If Brian Harman had the last laugh in the match, Europe laughed hardest at the end of the Saturday morning session, stretching their lead to a whopping seven points.
