The 2022 Masters gets underway today as four Irish golfers ready themselves.
The 86th edition of
The Masters Tournament tees off today at the Augusta National in Georgia. Ireland have four representatives taking part in the first major of 2022.
Rory McIlroy, Shane Lowry, Padraig Harrington, and Seamus Power all tee off today and will finish on Sunday, April 10 as they look to win their first green jacket.

Rory McIlroy.
McIlroy is chasing his first green jacket at the Augusta National. The county Down native hasn't won a major since the 2014 US PGA Championship at Valhalla Golf Club in Kentucky.
The 32-year-old comes into the first major of 2022 ranked ninth in the world. He told reporters, his early arrival at the golf course last week was to analyse the changes the club made to the 18 holes.
The four-time major winner has a strong collection of finishes recorded at the Masters. McIlroy has three top-five finishes in the last five years at Augusta and finished within the top ten six times in his last eight attempts.

Shane Lowry.
Lowry will be looking to put a marker down at this year's Masters. The Clara, county Offaly man will be hoping to improve on his record of three missed cuts in six Masters starts.
The world number 35 can have a great weekend if he utilises his world-class short game on the Augusta golf course. The Masters is the only major Lowry has yet to register a top 10 finish in.
Lowry's major win at the 2019 Open Championship is the only major victory of his career. The 35-year-old is arguably the most in-form of the Irish golfers having finished second in February’s Honda Classic.

Seamus Power.
Power makes his Masters debut on the back of reaching the quarter-finals of the World Golf Championship Match-Play in March.
That result saw Power earn at least $386,000 and achieve a world ranking high. The 35-year-old Waterford native comes into the 2022 Masters ranked 48th in the world.
Power spent a week in Las Vegas before he arrived in Georgia for his first Masters Tournament. Despite Power's strong finish in March, he's suffered a dip in form recently in terms of stroke-play, missing three of his last four cuts.

Padraig Harrington.
Harrington returns to the Masters for the first time since 2015 due to his strong performance in the US PGA championship. He tied for second at the Rapiscan Systems Classic earlier this month.
The three-time major winner looked ahead to the Masters after he finished runner-up, "I’m not going there to make up the numbers. With my head, I’m going there to play my best golf and compete and try and win."
The 2021 Ryder Cup captain arrives at Augusta ranked 148th in the world. The 50-year-old's return to the Masters was made possible by his tied 4th in last year’s PGA Championship.
