The Offaly man was out on course early this morning and clearly in the zone.
Shane Lowry was one of a multitude of golfers up at the crack of dawn in St Louis
to finish out his second round in the USPGA Championships.
Heavy rains and thunder forced rounds to be halted on Friday and the likes of Rickie Fowler, Tiger Woods, Rory McIlroy and Lowry were out on Saturday morning to catch up with the rest. American Gary Woodland was leading the field with a daunting clubhouse total of -10 but there were birdies to be had.
Lowry started off the day on -4 but picked up three shots and, heading into the third round, is tied 5th on -7.
Having struggled for long stretches this year, Lowry was back to his very best and his putting was sublime.

Lowry carded six birdies in his six-under round of 64 and is well poised for a crack at his first ever Major win.

Woodland still leads the way but there is a glut of talent close behind. Kevin Kisner will tee off with him as he is -9 while Brooks Kopeka and Fowler are -8.
Charl Schwartzel, Thomas Pieters and Dustin Johnson are all on -7 with Lowry. Justin Rose (-4) leads the English challenge, with Matt Wallace and Ian Poulter just a shot back.
It has not been as easy for Woods (-3) or McIlroy (-2) but both men will tell themselves a low round on moving day will put them in the hunt.
The highlight of McIlroy's round was a superb chip-in birdie that had the fans out of their seats.

The third round will get underway with a host of the sports biggest names in the mix and vying for the final Major of the year.
