Tony Finau was dicing with the drink on Day One of the 2018 Ryder Cup.
The American was perilously close to plonking his opening drive into the water on the first hole of the first fourball of the day.

Justin Rose and Jon Rahm got off to an absolute flyer but, try as they might, they could not shake rookie duo Finau and Brooks Koepka.
Coming to the 16th, Finau and Koepka were still 1 Down and it could have got much worse. Finau's approach looked certain to sink in the H2O but took a lucky, lucky bounce off a wooden post and ended up stopping three feet short of the hole.

He ended up tapping in for birdie to make it All Square before Koepka put them 1 Up by dropping a birdie on 17. The Americans took home a solid red point by closing it out on the 18th.
Europe trailed 3-1 after the fourballs but showed plenty of fight in the afternoon foursomes.
