Get that sun cream out, give yourself a betting budget and get ready to enjoy three days of amazing racing action in the sun. The Irish Derby itself is the richest race run in Ireland, with prize money of €1.5million, so you can expect a stacked racecard. The action gets underway at 5.35pm on Friday and the card includes will include the JOE Handicap at 6.35pm, the Her.ie Apprentice Derby at 7.10pm and the SportsJOE Maiden at 8.55pm. And you can also enjoy the Curragh Sounds of the Summer in the Music Village on Friday, with 2fm DJ Bláthnaid Treacy performing a set after the last race ends. On Saturday, the post-race entertainment comes from rising Irish outfit, State Lights. Ticket holders will also be entitled to complimentary admission to Kildare's newest venue, Studio One, after the event.
