Ruby Walsh didn't win the Aintree Grand National, although it is a minor miracle that he finished the race on Pleasant Company.
It was Sligo native Derek Fox riding One For Arthur who took home the top honour in a dramatic finish at Aintree. One For Arthur managed to survive jumping into favourite Blaklion at the second-to-last fence to beat Cause for Causes and Saint are past the posts.
Pleasant Company finished a bit behind the leaders, crossing the line in ninth place.

Another jockey may not have finished that high up the pack on Pleasant Company. Hell, if someone else had been on the horse it may not have even finished at all.
The horse took the 25th fence at Aintree pretty badly, stumbling awkwardly after landing. The front legs buckled and it seemed destined to fall. God only knows how the hell it recovered and stick it out til the end.
