Arguably the greatest fighter ever could be returning to the UFC sooner than expected

The welterweight division better watch their backs because Georges St-Pierre is getting the itch.

We may not have seen the last of GSP inside the Octagon. The long-standing UFC welterweight champion bowed out of the sport on a high note after successfully defending his belt against Johny Hendricks in a five-round war at UFC 167. After the fight, GSP vacated his belt which Hendricks won by beating Robbie Lawler, who went on to claim it off Bigg Rigg in their rematch at UFC 181. GSP, who successfully defended his belt nine times, has been enjoying the retired life, but dropped a massive hint that he may be returning to the sport soon to Canadian news outlet RDS.

“I’m starting to get the feeling, more and more, to come back. I watch the fights to see what’s going on in my division, and I’m staying in shape. It’s like a knife that I have to keep sharp just in case I ever decide to jump back in the mix. It’s not for sure that it won’t happen in 2015, but I’m not sure yet.”

The Canadian MMA legend has an impressive list of scalps on his record including Hendricks, Nick Diaz, Carlos Condit, BJ Pen, Matt Hughes etc, but has never fought current champion Lawler. Considering Ruthless' stellar recent form inside the cage, that's a fight plenty of people would love to see.
