While White's honesty has come into question in the past, he had a text message exchange with McMahon on hand to prove that his most reliable cash cow would not be going down the professional wrestling avenue anytime soon.
"I literally just texted Vince McMahon five minutes ago," White said before showing the hosts his phone.
On his screen were short messages from the WWE Chairman and CEO which read "News to me," and "It might be a good idea someday, but not now."
So unless McMahon is negotiating with McGregor's people and keeping the whole operation a secret, even from White, it looks like there will be no WrestleMania appearance for the Irishman next year.

McGregor has not competed in the Octagon in almost a year, since claiming the UFC lightweight title with a stunning knockout victory over Eddie Alvarez, and he most recently dipped his toe in the lucrative boxing waters, where he was stopped by the legendary Floyd Mayweather in August.
Next up for the 29-year-old is likely one of two options. He will either clash with rival Nate Diaz for a third time in what would represent the most profitable bout on the table or else he will legitimise his 155lbs title with a unification meeting with newly crowned interim champ, Tony Ferguson.
"Nobody has talked about Diaz. Diaz has never been talked about. That's internet bullshit," White said after UFC 216 this past weekend.
"Tony's the interim champion. Conor 's the champion. It's the fight that makes sense. It's the fight that has to happen. Doesn't make sense. It's the fight that has to happen."Explore more on these topics:
