Mendes tested positive for a performance-enhancing drug in an out-of-competition sample, Usada announced Wednesday.
The banned substance GHRP-6, a growth-hormone releasing peptide was found in the the three-time UFC title contender's system.
The 31-year-old will not be able to return to the Octagon until June 10 2018, the date which his provisional suspension for the initial potential violation had started.
