McGregor's share has been bought out by Mexican beverage company Becle.
Conor McGregor's Proper 12 line of whiskeys has been bought out by a Mexican beverage company, making the former UFC star a decent whack of money in the process.
In a statement released by Becle, the company revealed that they had exercised an option to acquire 51 per cent of the equity interests of Eire Born Spirits (a company founded by McGregor and his manager Audie Attar).
Becle had initially had a 20% share of Proper 12, having helped EBS get the brand off the ground. It increased its stake to 49% last year, but now fully owns the company.
McGregor launched the brand in 2018, with himself as the face of the brand. At the time, he would regularly be seen at press conferences with a glass of the whiskey.
Reviews of the beverage were for the most part, well, shit.

MALT described Proper 12 as "overpriced, dull, one dimensional and bland" and gave it 2/10 in its review. Customer reviews were just as damning, with one reviewer on
Master of Malt describing it as "the worst Irish whiskey at the price point".
Despite this, fans of McGregor continued to purchase the whiskey in droves, with the former UFC champ regularly retweeting pictures from them on social media.
