For a while there, it seemed like Conor McGregor may have had some sort of clairvoyant ability.
'The Notorious' predicted that Cole Miller and Jose Aldo would pull out. He delivered on his promise of knocking out Diego Brandao, Dustin Poirier and Aldo inside the first round. He also managed to get a featherweight and a lightweight belt on each shoulder on the European circuit as well as the big leagues, as he prophecised.
More recently though, his predictions haven't come good. It took him until the second round to put away Eddie Alvarez, although 'the Underground King was thoroughly outclassed in their fight. Being beaten up and choked out by Nate Diaz caught him (and everyone else) off guard. Also, he didn't become the first man to Floyd Mayweather, nor did he ever come close to doing so.

Although he has slipped up a few times, it does feel that McGregor's success rate with his predictions is higher than most. With this in mind, it will be interesting to see if a prediction he made during the world tour for his first scheduled bout against Aldo will come back to bite him in the arse.
Before he beat Aldo to win the 145 lb title, before he even beat Chad Mendes to win the interim strap, McGregor had Khabib Nurmagomedov in his sights. In 2015, he predicted that the undefeated Dagestani would be holding the 155 lb belt when he moved up to try to claim it.
At the time, Nurmagomedov was considered the uncrowned lightweight king, but setbacks have meant that he has yet to fight for a UFC title. With McGregor currently holding onto that coveted golden strap, he will be hoping this prediction doesn't come true in the near future.
Although, following his latest mauling of elite striker Edson Barboza, it feels like 'The Eagle's next fight needs to be for a belt. Whether that will come against McGregor or current interim king Tony Ferguson remains to be seen.
