Conor McGregor opens up as betting favourite to beat Jose Aldo

The odds makers seem to think that Conor McGregor is likely to hand Jose Aldo his first loss in over 10 years.

The date is set, Jose Aldo will defend his UFC featherweight title against interim champion Conor McGregor at UFC 194 in on December 12th in thee MGM Grand Garden Arena in Vegas.

After the UFC confirmed the fight, the betting odds were released by Bovada. According to their odds makers, reigning champion Aldo opens up as the underdog with the Notorious just shy of being a two-to-one favorite.

It seems that McGregor's phenomenal second round knockout victory over Chad Mendes at UFC 189 was enough to convince the bookies that he should be the favourite. Although Aldo knocked out the Team Alpha Male product in their first meeting, their rematch at UFC 179 went the distance with Aldo taking home the unanimous decision victory.
