WATCH: Dressing room footage shows how Conor McGregor prepared for UFC history

Owen Roddy had one of the best seats in the house for a genuine piece of Ultimate Fighting Championship history.

Conor McGregor's striking coach continued his habit of recording the day of his man's fights and has provided fans with a great insight into all the goings on at UFC 205. Roddy was in McGregor's corner when he took lightweight champion Eddie Alvarez apart and claimed his belt in the process. He was also by his side for the whole build-up and post-fight proceedings. The 15-minute vlog, which is well worth a watch, features McGregor's arrival at Madison Square Garden, instructions from fight referee John McCarthy, his reaction to Yoel Romero's flying knee knock-out of Chris Weidman and getting his hands wrapped by John Kavanagh whilst still in his suit. "Conor is obsessed with fighting. He just loves fighting. It doesn't matter who it is, he just watches it. "He was engrossed in the fights... The minute we arrived, he was glued to the TV. So he still had everything on. He took his jacket off and was still watching all the fights. Suddenly we were three fights out and he still hadn't changed yet. "He was shouting at the TV what they should and shouldn't be doing. I told him I'd do his hands up and he could sit watching the TV. It was quite hard wrapping his hands as he was reacting and wouldn't hold still."

Once McGregor was finally changed and ready to go, Roddy joined him for a truly evocative, rousing walk-out. Roddy was in the Octagon for the moment McGregor's arm was raised and he was [eventually] presented with his two UFC belts. He was right in the mix at Marquee nightclub, too, as the 'champ champ' partied away with adoring fans. There will be quite the home-coming in Dublin once these lads get back.
