Conor McGregor in Liverpool this weekend for discussions with Dana White

The last time Conor McGregor was present for a UFC fight week, all hell broke loose.

We can expect McGregor to be on his best behaviour, however, when he travels to Liverpool this weekend for talks with UFC President Dana White. The former UFC lightweight and featherweight champion is set to discuss his fighting future with White ahead of the organisation's first show on Merseyside, with a court case looming. McGregor was charged with three counts of assault and one count of criminal mischief last month after he turned himself into New York Police Department custody following a well-documented melee involving a bus.

"I have nothing to do with the legal issues, he’ll need to figure that out on his own," White told ESPN this week.

McGregor and a group of his friends laid siege to a bus in the lead-up to UFC 223 and injured two fighters who were scheduled to compete on the Brooklyn card. The Irishman was granted bail and allowed to fly home but he will have to return to face a court hearing on June 14. The outcome of that hearing will likely give us some idea of when we can expect to see 'The Notorious' back in the Octagon. Having not fought in the UFC in almost two years, McGregor is in danger of spending his prime on the sidelines and fans are eager to see him return to doing what he does best. "Obviously, he has to deal with it in June. I’m flying to Liverpool this weekend for a fight there, and he and I are going to meet in Liverpool," White said. UFC Liverpool will see hometown hero Darren Till take on former 170lbs challenger Stephen 'Wonderboy' Thompson in a welterweight clash which could well decide the next contender in the division. And McGregor, who has competed twice at 170lbs, will be right there watching.
