Talks were thought to be underway to sign McGregor up for an appearance at WrestleMania, the WWE's flagship pay-per-view, and the agent of the reigning UFC featherweight and lightweight champion has insisted that the McGregor camp is open to offers.
"I think it's all about business, man," agent Audie Attar said on the Five Rounds podcast, via ESPN.com. "If [WWE] is going to come with an offer, we are willing to entertain it. We are here. Have their people call his people—which is me. We can have a conversation."
McGregor has insisted that he intends to step away from the fight game until next summer at the earliest as his girlfriend is expecting the couple's firstborn child.
But with a wrestling match far less stressful than any preparation for genuine combat, perhaps a WWE debut at April's WrestleMania would be the ideal opportunity for McGregor to get his foot in the door and pick up a hefty paycheck to help pay for the nursery.
"I think it's phenomenal that a guy like Triple H was at the fights," Attar added. "I heard he said some positive things, which is always good to hear."
Triple H is not shying away from the potential crossover as he publicly announced that McGregor would be welcome in the WWE ring.
"He could come over, he's got it all, man," Triple H recently told the Daily Telegraph. "He's got the personality, the skills, the talk. He's an entertainer, for sure."
Stay tuned to this one, folks!
