Cracking fight set to headline UFC Belfast

This is a good start from the UFC brass.

Gunnar Nelson is set to be confirmed as the headliner of UFC Belfast on November 19. Nelson, who fights out of Dublin's Straight Blast Gym, has been lined up to face Korean fighter Dong Hyun Kim in a welterweight bout. The Icelandic fighter rebounded from his first successive defeats in the UFC to defeat Albert Tumenov in May of this year. Defeating 'Stun Gun' in Belfast should propel him into the top 10 of the UFC welterweight rankings. Kim has not fought since November 2015 but was due to face Neil Magny at UFC 202, until injury intervened. MMA Fighting believe contracts for the Nelson-Kim fight are being finalised. UFC Belfast will mark the promotion's second visit to the city. The first was UFC 72, headlined by Rich Franklin versus Yushin Okami, in June 2007. Other fighters that may be hoping for inclusion on the card include Aisling Daly [missing September's UFC Hamburg through injury], Norman Parke [released by the promotion but set to fight twice beforehand] and Peter Queally [close to signing a UFC 202 fight contract until visa issues arose].
