It didn't take long for Donald Cerrone to get his name attached to another fight.
There was heartbreak for Cowboy on Friday morning when it became apparent that he wasn't going to fight on the historic UFC 205 card.
Cerrone had initially been linked with a main card fight against former 170 lb champion Robbie Lawler back in the card's infancy, but that fight fell through due to "Ruthless" requiring more time off after losing his belt to Tyron Woodley.
He was subsequently matched up with top welterweight Kelvin Gastelum for a main card welterweight bout. However, while Cerrone
tipped the scales at 170.4 lbs on Friday, his opponent didn't show up at all. Gastelum announced that he was unable to make weight and the fight was scrapped entirely.
Cerrone was left with his show money, but without a fight in New York.

With UFC 205 off the table, Cerrone has already been linked with a fight for the next numbered event set to go down in Toronto on December 10.
According to a report from
FOX Sports, both Cerrone and Matt Brown have verbally agreed to fight each other on the Canadian card.
The Immortal is looking to bounce back from back-to-back losses to Demian Maia and Jake Ellenberger. He will be hoping to rediscover the form that saw him rack up seven straight wins in the UFC before he went 1-4 in his last five outings.
Meanwhile, Cerrone has looked sensational at welterweight since moving up following his first round annihilation at the heavy hands of Rafael dos Anjos in their title fight at UFC on Fox 17. He's racked up three straight wins at 170, beating Alex Oliveira, Patrick Cote and Rick Story.
UFC 206 will be headlined by light heavyweight title fight rematch between Daniel Cormier and Anthony Johnson.
