Edgar hasn't been known as a fighter who calls people out or talks trash, but recently he has changed his stance on how he promotes himself in a bid to get another title shot. It seems that this has worked in his favour as Dana White revealed in an interview with ESPN that Edgar is one of the front runners to fight McGregor next.
"The fight that hasn't happened that a lot of fans want to see is Conor McGregor vs. Frankie Edgar for the 145 pound title."It's important to note though, that Edgar has been repeatedly snubbed for title shots over the last year or so, even when he was promised them. The New Jersey native revealed to FOX Sports that he was promised "whatever he wanted" after knocking out Mendes, but that didn't transpire.
"I was told after I fought (Chad) Mendes, 'Frankie gets whatever he wants' and I still didn't get what I wanted. Now it's my chance again. Are they going to dog me again? Is Dana (White) going to dog me again and not give me this? He can't. He just can't."
