Never change, Joe Rogan.
Whenever Joe Rogan and Daniel Cormier are in the commentary booth, entertainment is guaranteed. While DC usually delivers with his in-fight analysis, it's the duos larger-than-life personalities that really shine when they're working together. It's very obvious that they have fun in there.
So when Cormier, Rogan and Jon Anik were announced as the commentary team for UFC 227, fans knew what was in store. They knew there would be some friendly ribbing. The pair more than delivered after the event was over.
Perhaps the highlight was when discussions turned to the co-main event. After
dethroning Demetrious Johnson via split decision, Henry Cejudo called for a bantamweight title shot against TJ Dillashaw. However, there was great debate about what the next 125 lb and 135 lb UFC title fights should be.

Immediate rematch
It doesn't appear as though Cejudo will get his preferred fight. Although Dillashaw is game, it feels like he will be defending the strap against a natural bantamweight next. A chance to exact revenge on Dominick Cruz may be on the cards. Marlon Moraes, who's coming off that devastating knockout victory that handed Jimmie Rivera his first ever defeat also seems like a viable option.
Also, the consensus seems to be that 'Mighty Mouse' deserves a chance to reclaim his belt. Johnson was the first flyweight champion. He set the record for most consecutive title defences in any UFC weight class. Not only did he knock Cejudo out two years ago, but many folks seem to think that he should have been given the nod against the Olympic gold medalist in the rematch.
All these reasons are why Cormier suggested a rubber match between DJ and Cejudo should be the next flyweight title fight. To which Rogan replied,
"To play devil's advocate, doesn’t Stipe Miocic deserves a rematch then?"
Prepared
To bring you up to speed, Cormier knocked out Stipe Miocic to become the UFC heavyweight champion at UFC 226. The win saw him become a double champ as he already held the light heavyweight strap. Statistically, Miocic was the greatest heavyweight champion in the history of the promotion because he had the most consecutive title defences at three. So in a sense, he is the Demetrious Johnson of the heavyweight division.
However, Cormier has already made it clear that he will retire next March. He is expected to fight Brock Lesnar for a huge payday rather than give Miocic his rematch. Rogan has been a big advocate for Miocic vs Cormier II.
DC responded with a belly-chuckle, saying '11 title defences are very different to three'. Although, he did confirm he would be willing to fight Miocic again if his preferred match-up falls through.
"If Brock Lesnar doesn't make it to the fight for any reason then he will fight Stipe Miocic immediately."
