Jose Aldo completely befuddled by Conor McGregor’s quick knockout

Being knocked out in just 13-seconds has left Jose Aldo in a state of confusion.

The former UFC featherweight champion lost his belt to Conor McGregor at UFC 194 after the Notorious landed flush with that trusty left hand in less time than it took Bruce Buffer to introduce him before the fight.   Losing is a somewhat foreign concept to Aldo who, until Saturday night, had not lost for over 10 years and had never tasted defeat as a featherweight. He has given his two cents on defeat to Brazilian outlet Combate, and by he sounds of it, he's still coming to terms with being beaten.

"It still is too hard to digest. We trained hard, did everything right, and the result wasn’t positive. It takes a while for us to digest, but it’s part (of the sport). It’s a sport and we have to accept." "So, there wasn’t even a fight, right? Only 13 seconds. And I also remember when I came in, how I tried to punch. But, man, it’s hard to know if it’s (his) success or (my) mistake. It’s a quick decision, and he was able to connect a good punch when I tried a combination."

Aldo also admitted that despite being outclassed in the first bout, he wishes to have a rematch in order to try to win his belt back. He feels his legacy in the sport has earned him that right.

"We spoke (with Dana White) right after. But I think it’s too soon to talk. Of course, I want a rematch, and I think I have this right. Not only me, but my career speaks for itself."
