Mark Wahlberg, who was speaking to JOE's Rory Cashin recently, has advised McGregor to take as much punishment as he can during the fight, and to pounce on the American with one of his trademark knockout punches when the moment arises.
"So I think Conor is going to go in there and he's going to take a couple of shots to get one. It'll be interesting to see if he can catch Floyd and if Floyd can handle that power and that punch," said the 46-year old.Wahlberg, who along with other global celebrities such as New England Patriots quarterback Tom Brady is a part-owner of the UFC since the company was acquired by WME-IMG last year, is looking forward to the fight and he reckons it's set to be more of a contest than many expect. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RW4M03Drsh8 "So I've always been wanting to see that kind of greatness tested and I know Conor's going to bring it and he's not going to be scared to get hit. So, I think, you know, the boxing world says 'It's going to be a boring dull fight. I'll be the first one to buy it. I hope to see something interesting happening." Wahlberg thinks the fight will go all the way down to the wire and feels Mayweather won't knock the Dubliner out. "Obviously Mayweather has the advantage and he's very careful in choosing to fight him in the ring and not in the Octagon, but Conor, I think, is a very different kind of fighter. If you look at Canelo, he never really went after Mayweather. I don't think he (Floyd) has the power to knock out McGregor," added Wahlberg.
