Diaz's powerful boxing, as well as strong ground game, was the ultimate factor in beating McGregor two weeks ago. He is likely to now move on to a title shot against Rafael dos Anjos while the Drimnagh native may switch move back down to featherweight after his first ever UFC loss.
Diaz feels that the Irishman should not be any way embarrassed at tasting defeat for the first time. Instead, he should never have gotten in the position to be submitted in the first place.
"It’s a fight against the best fighters in the world; you’ve got to tap to that. “You ain’t getting out of it. You can tap out, or you can go to sleep. You tap out if you’re caught. The thing is, that’s what I think, is don’t get caught.”
