April 23rd is the date. The MGM Grand is the location. UFC 197 is the card.
The UFC officially announced the bout during the broadcast of UFC Fight Night: Hendricks vs. Thompson and revealed that a flyweight title fight between long-time champion Demetrious Johnson and undefeated wrestler Henry Cejudo will act as co-main event on the night.
Jones' last trip to the octagon resulted in a unanimous decision victory over Cormier but 'Bones' was stripped of his title after his part in a hit-and-run incident involving a pregnant woman.
Since then, Cormier has claimed the vacant belt by submitting Anthony Johnson before securing a split decision win over Alexander Gustafsson last October.
As the appetite-whetter for Cormier-Jones, we get to see Demetrious Johnson come up against the man who many believe could have the tools to cause an upset over 'Mighty Mouse.'
Cejudo, a 2008 Olympic gold medallist in freestyle wrestling, is perfect in his mixed martial arts career and gets the shot at UFC gold when he meets Johnson in April.Explore more on these topics:
