The fall out from the champion's failed test continues
Ahead of his upcoming hearing with the Nevada State Atheltic Commission, it seems that we now know what Anderson Silva's defence for his failed PED test before and after UFC 183 will consist of.

UFC site carry a report from a Brazilian site UOL which says that Anderson's defence will be that he only took PEDs to help his recovery from a broken leg and that the substances would have had no influence on his performance against Nick Diaz.
Silva was found to have steroids Drostanolone and Androstane in his system in a test conducted on January 9, and Drostanolone in his system on January 31, after the Diaz fight.
The plan, to admit the usage but deny they were to improve his performance, is an interesting tactic that we think has little chance of washing with the NSAC, as recovering quicker and better from an injury is, by definition, performance enhancing.
Silva has already claimed innocence but if this is the defence he is offering, we suspect a ban is in the immediate future of the Spider.
