The next title fights in the UFC light heavyweight and middleweight divisions have been announced

It's been just 13 days since a new UFC light heavyweight champion was crowned and the middleweight belt was retained but the promotion aren't allowing their champions to rest on their laurels.

It's been confirmed that 205 lb kingpin Daniel Cormier will defend his shiny, new belt against former top contender Alexander Gustafsson in their next outing which won't likely be until September or October when UFC 191 and UFC 192 take place.

It's a strange choice of challenger for Cormier considering Gustafsson's last fight saw him knocked out against Anthony Johnson. Many suggest that Ryan Bader is deserving of a shot at the strap as he is currently riding a four-fight win streak. The next middleweight title bout makes a lot more sense but we can also expect a bit of a wait for that to come around . It was announced last night that Chris Weidman will attempt to defend his belt for the fourth time, and the first against a non-Brazilian, against Luke Rockhold. It was between Rockhold and Ronaldo Jacare Souza for the number one contender spot and the American had obviously been favoured due to the fact that he walked through the tough task of Lyoto Machida while Jacare saw off the lesser opponent in Chris Camozzi.
