UFC star Johny Hendricks rushed to hospital, Woodley fight scrapped

Extremely worrying news coming out of the UFC.

Dana White broke the news that UFC 192's co-main event has been called off. Former welterweight champion Johny Hendricks was due to slug it out with heavy hitter Tyron Woodley to see who would get a crack at the winner of Robbie Lawler vs Carlos Condit. The fight had been highly anticipated because both fighters pack some of the most devastating haymakers in the division and they have a rivalry which began back in their college wrestling days. "The weight was coming off fine and then yesterday my body just started to shut down," Hendricks told MMA Fighting.

"Then yesterday my body just started to shut down. When it hit that point, I tried to push through it, and well, it didn't go well because then I had to go to the ER."

Hendricks has since left hospital but "the body is hurting bad and sore from it. The body hasn't recovered from it yet, but maybe it will tomorrow."

Although Woodley will be disappointed about not getting to fight this weekend, Yahoo MMA scribe Kevin Iole broke some news that should raise his spirits.

Also, the flyweight bout between Joseph Benavidez and Ali Bagautinov has been promoted from the prelims to the main card.
