TJ Dillashaw calls Conor McGregor a traitor to Ireland in response to “snake” comment

TJ Dillashaw is not happy about being labelled a "snake in the grass" by Conor McGregor.

The UFC bantamweight champion appeared on the MMA Hour on Monday to speak about his split with Team Alpha Male to join Elevation Fight Team in Colorado. Dillashaw had trained under Urijah Faber for years, but decided to depart from the Californian Kid's team after Faber fell out with striking coach Duane "Bang" Ludwig. Interim UFC featherweight champion McGregor famously referred to Dillashaw as a "snake in the grass" during his press tour promoting the new season of the Ultimate Fighter, which features himself and Faber as coaches. Dillashaw told host Ariel Helwani that he decided to leave Team Alpha Male for business reasons and that McGregor's criticism was hypocritical considering how much he prides himself on his business acumen.

"It's actually kind of ridiculous for him to call me a snake or a traitor. It's a fact that this was a business decision.I feel like that's Conor's thing, to make business decisions." "I'm getting told I'm a snake because I made a business decision and for my career. That's pretty hypocritical and now you've got all these people believing what he says."

Dillashaw even went as far to call McGregor a traitor to Ireland for leaving Roisin Dubh to set up camp in Las Vegas.

"If I'm a traitor then I feel like he's an even bigger traitor to his country. He's representing Ireland and he's a big country man and he lives in the United States now. He's moved to Las Vegas. Why? It's better for his career, it's business." "I can have these haters out there, but haters gonna hate."
