The former UFC light heavyweight only needed one punch to finish the fight, connecting with a thunderous overhand right that landed square on Bernardo's jaw and sent him crashing down to the canvas. Bernardo was able to get back to his feet within the 10-second count, but the referee deemed him too dazed to continue and Maldonado was declared the winner by first round KO.
