Hamilton was in Auckland for a quick visit ahead of the Australian Grand Prix and made two Snapchat recordings showing him riding a Harley Davidson motorcycle.
But using a mobile phone when driving has been strictly prohibited in New Zealand since 2009 and Lewis soon found himself the subject of a police investigation.
Luckily for him following a review of the footage officers have decided not to take further action.
A spokeswoman for Auckland City Police has since said it "does not provide us with sufficient evidence that an offence has occurred".
