Confirmed: Ian Madigan leaving Leinster for French Top 14 side

After weeks of rumour, it has been finally confirmed today that Ian Madigan is leaving Leinster to join a Top 14 side in France. The Ireland outhalf - who was key to Leinster's 24-7 win over Munster last night -  has ended speculation about his future by joining Bordeaux Bègles from next season. The no. 10 has found himself behind Johnny Sexton in the pecking order at Leinster this term, and in a statement this afternoon, his province confirmed the move at the end of the current campaign,

"Leinster Rugby can this afternoon confirm that Ian Madigan will leave Leinster at the end of the current season to join Bordeaux Bègles in the French Top 14."

"Madigan has played 135 times for Leinster, scoring 765 points (24 tries) since his debut in May 2009 against the Newport Gwent Dragons and has won two Heineken Cups, a Challenge Cup and two PRO12 titles during his time with Leinster. He has also won 25 Irish caps and two 6 Nations titles."
