It has emerged this evening that highly respected coach Dave Ellis will return home to take up a full-time role as skills coach for the Blues. The Super rugby outfit confirmed the signing on their official website.
Ellis, from Putaruru, New Zealand, signed for Connacht as a backs and skills coach in 2013. He also took charge of their player development and since his arrival, there has been a noticeable growth in the skill-sets of some of Connacht's players.
Although he may not be as well known as head coach Pat Lam, Ellis is credited with playing a major role in the province winning their first ever Guinness Pro12 title last season.
