There are three leading candidates to wear the No.13 jersey. We did not include other players, such as Keith Earls, Gordon D'Arcy and Kevin Maggs, that were up for votes in other positions.
Mike Mullins played 16 Tests for Ireland and played a hand in an impressive return of 12 wins. The Kiwi native's three tries all came in one match, against the USA in 2000. He continued to play for Munster, with distinction, after his last Test cap, in 2003.
Brian O'Driscoll played 133 times for Ireland and is the country's leading tryscorer with 46. He won three Six Nations championships, including the 2009 Grand Slam. His international career spanned 15 seasons and included four British & Irish Lions tours.
Jared Payne is somewhat of a newcomer to the Test arena but he has quickly established himself as Ireland's outside centre. Payne scored a vital try in the final day win over Scotland that helped Ireland to the 2015 Six Nations.
