On Saturday, the Irish rugby team take on world champions New Zealand at Soldier Field in Chicago.
And if those of Irish descent in the Windy City needed a pep in their step and a glimmer of hope that Joe Schmidt's boys might be able to pull of a shock victory then they got just that (and more) when the Chicago Cubs watched the World Series for the first time in 108 years.
New Zealand are Ireland's bogey team having beaten them 27 times in 28 games, and drawing just once back in 1973. However, with some of Ireland's top players hitting form at the right time for their provinces, there is hope that Ireland can finally get that elusive win over the rugby behemoths.
It promises to be an unbelievable occasion on Saturday with thousands of Irish fans travelling to the States for this historic fixture.
The following week there will be the greatest cross Atlantic tag team the world has ever seen as those returning home from Chicago are replaced by an equally passionate group of Irish fans heading off to New York to see Conor McGregor fight Eddie Alvarez in Madison Square Garden.
The Notorious has a chance to make history by becoming the first fighter to hold belts in two separate divisions in the UFC simultaneously. To do so, he will have to dethrone the lightweight champion in the main event of the promotion's first ever event in the Big Apple, on a card that's stacked from top to bottom featuring three title fights in total.
