Sexton has eclipsed Ronan O'Gara's long-standing Irish points record.
Johnny Sexton has officially become Ireland's all-time leading points scorer, surpassing Ronan O'Gara's long-standing tally of 1083 points.
Latching on to the end of a precision move, Sexton poetically slid in next to the posts much to the delight of the travelling Irish fans.
Andy Farrell was taking no chances though with his skipper, as he swiftly whisked him off the field at half-time versus
Tonga to be replaced by Leinster teammate Ross Byrne.

Analysing what is undoubtedly yet another iconic milestone reached in
Sexton's glittering career, the RTE panel of Simon Zebo, Stephen Ferris and Jamie Heaslip poked light-hearted fun at former teammate Ronan O'Gara.
Remarking that everyone would be happy to see as good a servant to Irish Rugby as Sexton break the points record, Ferris quipped, "Apart from Rog!"
Former Leinster and Ireland back-row Jamie Heaslip then broke down the score in greater detail, saying;
"It's a really good attack again where they get that two-sided attack which is really really important. Garry Ringrose hides and times his run beautifully and then what we love to see from Garry, completely unselfishly gives the ball to Johnny.
"And I thought he was going to celebrate like ROG did back in 2006 at Lansdowne Road when he hopped the barrier and went into the crowd and give it everything, which is etched in my memory.
"But now Johnny, I'm not sure if him and ROG and have bragging rights, but something tells me that Johnny is a little bit happy about becoming Ireland's highest point scorer."
Whilst it is a nice personal achievement, we are sure Sexton will take little notice once the dust settles from this evening's game, with the looming challenge of world champions South Africa awaiting him and his Irish side in Paris next weekend.
