You are only as young as the age on your birth cert says you are.
Kevin Sinfield is currently playing his 20th season of rugby league, in England. The Leeds Rhino star is turning 35 this year and made his league debut back as a 16-year-old.
Having won everything there is to be won in his form of the game, and represented his country with distinction, Sinfield is switching to union.
Starting in 2015/16, Sinfield will join Yorkshire Carnegie (formerly Leeds Carnegie, formerly Leeds Tykes, formerly Leeds RUFC).
Sinfield, who captained England for a decade, said, 'This was one of the toughest decisions of my career but I know the time is right for me to finish my time in league and embark on a new challenge.
'I never wanted to play against the Rhinos and throughout my career I have always had an admiration for union and wanted to challenge myself in that code. I am fortunate as a professional player in this era that opportunities like this exist for me and it is something I want to grab with both hands.'
It would seem that former Lions head coach Ian McGeechan, who is now heavily involved with Carnegie, was a key element in Sinfield's code switch.
