Well that's that then isn't it.
Earlier today it seemed that we might get to hold on to Paul O'Connell after all, with doubts over his shoulder possibly scuppering a move to Toulon.
But it seems that the former Munster man has agreed a deal with the big-spending Top-14 side already, and will link up with the French outfit next season.
The newspaper Var Matin indicates that O'Connell has signed a one year deal with the option of a second term.

O'Connell did pick up a shoulder injury in the 2007 Six Nations and when he sat out Munster's win, in May, over Treviso, coach Anthony Foley commented that a shoulder issue was causing him grief.
Going for this lad instead of Paulie? It's your dime Toulon.
We bet there would be a slew of other clubs looking to snatch up O'Connell for a year or two.
