With the hosts trailing 3-0 in the first half, Ruan Pienaar kicked a ball forward at an attacking ruck. It fell into Chris Henry's grasp with the only, obvious, problem being Henry being ahead of the play and offside.
From the following phase of play, Pienaar found Ludik and the fullback dived over to touch down.
Referee Gary Conway checked the grounding from the South African but ignored appeals to call the offside, despite Munster protests. Paddy Jackson converted to make it 7-3 at the break.
