POLL: We want your help in choosing Ireland’s greatest inside centre of the professional era

Ireland's Greatest Pro XV is taking shape.

Four backline slots have been selected, by you guys, in our best ever Irish team of the professional era [1995 to 2015]. Peter Stringer and Ronan O'Gara are half-back partners while Denis Hickie and Tommy Bowe are on the left and right wings, respectively. Next up, the No.12 jersey is up for grabs. We have three of Ireland's finest inside centres from the past two decades but only one will make the team. Kevin Maggs began is Ireland career at outside centre but is best known as the hard-charging foil to Brian O'Driscoll. He played in two World cups and signed off, after 70 Test caps, with a try against Japan, in 2005. Rob Henderson played on 32 times for Ireland but made a big impact during his time at No.12. The British & Irish Lions star merged well with O'Driscoll and memorably scored a hat-trick against Italy, in 2001. Gordon D'Arcy flitted between inside and outside centre, in 2004, when he won Player of the Six Nations. Stepped inside to accommodate O'Driscoll and struck up Ireland's most successful midfield partnership. Still going strong at 35.
