Lineker wasn't the only former Premier League star to heap praise on Forrester. Newcastle legend Alan Shearer explained how he could tell that both Forrester and his midfield partner Martin Samuelson were ones to watch out for
Forrester's teammate Jack Collison was injured so couldn't line out for Posh in the replay against the Premier League outfit but he took his seat in the studio where he lauded the impact that the Dubliner has made since his arrival, likening him to Manchester United's Michael Carrick.
"Chris Forrester has been outstanding since he's come in the team," Collison said. "He's very similar to Michael Carrick; he just makes the team tick, makes them tick over. He's been so impressive since he's come over from Ireland."And former Ireland international Kevin Kilbane echoed Collison's praise, agreeing with manager Graham Westley's comparisons to Carrick. https://twitter.com/SportsJOEdotie/status/697533101086531585 "He's been compared to Michael Carrick by the owners and by Westley himself," Kilbane added. "It's about building up the profile of the players. He's stepped in from the League of Ireland. "He's another one that could be potentially pushing on for the Ireland squad over the next few years." Not a bad evening's work, then. https://twitter.com/JamesMcC14/status/697557102580133888 https://twitter.com/noriordan/status/697521279486795777?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw https://twitter.com/alancaw/status/697520352625324032?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw
