They stated:
'BVB has complied, after intensive discussions, with the wish of the Armenian national team member, to to join the team that finished fifth in England last season, Manchester United.'Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke declared that selling the 27-year-old for a healthy fee [a reported £26m] made sense as Mkhitaryan could leave on a free transfer next summer. The Germans then concluded their statement by wishing Mkhitaryan the best with United in the Premier League AND Europa League next season.
