After inking a four-year deal, Sinclair declared he was the 'happiest I have been in a long time'. Six months on and he could be heading north of the England-Scotland border.
The Daily Mail is reporting that Rodgers is eager to get Sinclair up to Parkhead and believes he could get the midfielder for a little over £3m.
An initial enquiry was made by the Scots, last week, but a proposed fee of £2m was dismissed out of hand. Villa are said to want £6m but that will never happen. If Sinclair does shift up north, the final figure will be somewhere in the middle.
Rodgers has also been linked with a swoop for Blackburn and Ireland defender Shane Duffy.
