The Drimnagh native parted ways with the FAI more 12 years ago, after his stint as Republic of Ireland manager between 2003 and 2005, but absence makes the heart grow fonder, and many have been calling for his return to the FAI, in some capacity anyway, in recent times.
The 64-year-old was at his brilliant best on Today FM on Saturday afternoon. Kerr was commentating on the clash of Tottenham Hotspur and Stoke in Wembley Stadium.
His description of Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri certainly had listeners laughing at the steering wheel or wherever they were listening to Today FM this afternoon.
It really was Brian Kerr at his brilliant, brilliant best.
